Being a part of a boxing family, Ayaz Hussain was exposed to boxing at an early age. At 11 years old, his father – a former boxer himself –, was already teaching him the fundamentals of the sweet science. Three years later, Ayaz stepped into the squared circle for the first time. At a young age, he was inspired by great champions such as Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson. “They brought boxing to another level. They are brave, confident and exciting to watch!” says Hussain.
To this day, the same veterans continue to inspire him and serve as role models. The name Hussain is well known in the amateur circuit and with reason. During their ascension in the amateur ranks, the Hussain brothers were collecting titles. Six times Golden Gloves champion, Ayaz has also made himself at home on the medal podium of the Canadian National Championships. Moreover, both he and his brother, Mian, earned themselves the gold medal at the Canadian Championships in 2010.
Ayaz now feels he has accumulated the necessary experience to test his skills in the major leagues. Following in his brother’s footsteps, he aspires to shine as a professional, with the ultimate dream that he, Mian and their younger brother all become World champions. His counter punching abilities and explosiveness are what makes him a special fighter and we are anxious to see him in action in the ring.
