Eye of the Tiger Management (EOTTM) and Gestev are proud to announce that they will present, in conjunction withVideotron and Mise-o-jeu, the return of David Lemieux (38-4, 33 KOs) on Saturday, May 26 at Videotron Centre in Quebec City. The Quebec-based slugger will try to win the WBC International and Francophone titles in the middleweight category as he faces French champion Karim 'Amazigh' Achour (26-4-3, 4 KOs).

The Laval athlete's team already had a few options in mind when the May 5 card in Las Vegas, in which he was supposed to take part in, fell through. ForCamille Estephan and his trainer Marc Ramsay, it was of the utmost importance that Lemieux get back in the ring in May : “David was already preparing to face a first-rate opponent and that's what he will have on his plate on May 26. Achour is an attack-minded fighter, who constantly puts pressure in addition to being quite sound defensively. He holds the record for most French national titles won. It will therefore be quite an interesting challenge for David,” said Ramsay.

Considering this will be his first bout since he lost to Billy Joe Saunders in a WBO World Championship fight, David Lemieux wants to deliver a flawless performance to prove that he deserves to be considered as one of the elite fighters in the middleweight category : “I will be back and I intend to show that with the way I will perform on May 26 at Videotron Centre. I want to send a clear message, so I will be all in,” said an excited Lemieux.

In the semi-final bout, Canadian Olympic athlete Custio Clayton (14-0, 10 KOs) will face Dutch fighter Stephen 'The Chosen One' Danyo (14-0-3, 6 KOs) for the WBO International and IBF Intercontinental titles in the welterweight category. Although the boxer from Nova Scotia came up against formidable opponents over his amateur career, this will certainly be his thoughest challenge so far at the professional level.

“Our goal was to fight a belt holder who is ranked among the top 10 in the world in order to climb into the top 5 and get into position to become the mandatory challenger. Danyo therefore represents the first step on our way to the top and I am convinced that Custio will be up to the challenge,” said Clayton's manager, Dougy Berneche.

The event's complete schedule, which will also feature Batyr Jukembayev (12-0, 10 KOs), Erik Bazinyan (18-0, 13 KOs), Vincent Thibault (4-0, 2 KOs) and Raphaël Courchesne (2-0, 1 KO), will be unveiled over the next few days. Tickets for the May 26 gala will be on sale on April 13 at 10 am starting at $39 through Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.ca or at the Videotron Centre box office.
