Since the heartbreaking defeat he suffered last October 6th at the hands of Ontarian Dillon Carman (14-4, 13 KOs), Simon Kean (16-1, 15 KOO) from Trois-Rivières has had one thing on his mind: to get his revenge in order to show that it was only a slight deviation from his path to glory. The one nicknamed the "Grizzly" will finally have the opportunity to silence his detractors as he returns to the ring against Carman June 15th at the Gervais Auto Center in Shawinigan in the main event of a pro-am gala that will be presented by EOTTM in association with the Cataractes of Shawinigan, Vidéotron and Mise-o-jeu.
We are happy to have reached an agreement with Carman’s clan and to be able to set up this revenge fight that we have been impatiently waiting for not only on Simon’s behalf but also for a large number of Quebec boxing fans for nearly 6 months. We have full confidence in him and believe he will correct his past mistakes and come back stronger," said the president of EOTTM, Camille Estephan.
After experiencing his first career loss since his moving to the professionals, Kean allowed himself a moment of reflection where he was able to analyze what had happened, to relax and ultimately to review his priorities. "The truth is that I underestimated Dillon, thinking he was coming to Quebec simply to cash a check. He was discreet, prepared and surprised me. I lift my hat to him, says Simon Kean, determined to close this case and turn the page. "I have never been so motivated by an objective in my whole life. I don’t eat, I don’t sleep, I train tirelessly at gym until Carman will be on the floor, at my feet on June 15th. I'm not doing this for the money, but for the honour."
"Simon likes to find excuses to justify his loss but the truth is that he can’t handle my power and skills. I cannot wait to show everyone that he is just not on my level and that I am truly the best Heavyweight in Canada, with all due respect, the result will be the same on June 15th, no matter if he trains harder because I, too, will be ready and I plan to knock him out again," adds Dillon Carman.
Tickets for the Gala featuring Simon Kean vs. Dillon Carman II will be on sale as soon as today, March 22nd at noon on the Ovation network at www.ovation.qc.ca or at the box office of the Gervais Auto Center, starting at only $44. The complete card of the event will be unveiled in a press conference on April 2nd, where we will also present a press conference featuring a face-to-face between Simon Kean and Dillon Carman.
